Phil’s Service is seeking an experienced
Master Automotive Technician to join our ASE Blue Seal Certified repair facility. We are looking for a highly skilled professional with exceptional diagnostic abilities who can accurately diagnose and repair today’s complex automotive systems.
This position is ideal for a
high-producing technician who can consistently generate 55+ billable hours per week while maintaining excellent diagnostic accuracy, repair quality, and workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostics on domestic and import vehicles.
- Diagnose complex drivability, electrical, engine performance, transmission, steering, suspension, brake, HVAC, and electronic system concerns.
- Utilize factory scan tools, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, pressure testing equipment, and other advanced diagnostic equipment.
- Develop accurate repair plans based on diagnostic findings.
- Complete repairs correctly the first time while maintaining high quality standards.
- Perform inspections and document vehicle conditions using Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI) software.
- Perform heavy-line repairs, including but not limited to engine, transmission, and differential replacements.
- Clearly communicate diagnostic findings and repair recommendations to Service Advisors.
- Stay current with changing automotive technology through ongoing training.
- Assist and mentor less experienced technicians when needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures.
- Consistently maintain a production level of 55+ billable hours per week while protecting repair quality and diagnostic accuracy.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional automotive repair experience; additional experience preferred.
- Strong advanced diagnostic skills are required.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently produce 55+ billable hours per week in a professional repair environment.
- Ability to diagnose difficult intermittent electrical and drivability problems.
- Experience with CAN Bus, network communication systems, and advanced vehicle electronics.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and factory service information.
- ASE Master Certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Own professional tools required.
- Excellent work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail.
Preferred Experience
- Advanced electrical diagnostics
- Engine performance diagnostics
- Diesel diagnostics — a plus
- Hybrid and electric vehicle experience — a plus
- Air-conditioning diagnostics and repair
- Steering and suspension diagnostics
- ADAS calibration experience — preferred but not required

normal, demonstrated level of production is 55 billable hours or more per week, not someone who has occasionally reached that number.
