Setting/Hours: 100% In-Office | 6: 00am - 4: 30pm Mon-Thurs with 30 minute lunch. Fridays and Saturdays are OT. Usually OT is optional but depending on how busy they are, it could be mandatory

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Master Builder to support the fabrication and assembly of industrial machinery in a hands-on manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for laying out jobs from blueprints, cutting and assembling steel components, welding, and completing pipe and sheet metal fabrication.
The ideal candidate brings
35 years of industrial welding and fabrication experience, strong blueprint-reading skills, and hands-on experience with MIG and TIG welding. This role requires someone who can work independently, maintain high quality standards, and safely operate a variety of fabrication equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Fabrication & Machine Building
Lay out jobs for construction using blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Cut, fit, fabricate, and assemble steel components used in industrial machinery.
Perform pipe and sheet metal fabrication.
Weld mild steel and stainless steel using MIG and TIG processes.
Verify fit, alignment, dimensions, and overall quality throughout the fabrication and assembly process.
Complete work according to established production and quality requirements.
Equipment & Tool Operation
Safely operate MIG/TIG welders, drill presses, hand drills, grinders, and sanders.
Operate handheld and stationary abrasive saws, band saws, shears, and plasma cutters.
Utilize a variety of hand and power tools to complete fabrication and assembly work.
Properly maintain tools and equipment used in daily operations.
Quality & Safety
Follow established practices within the Quality Management System.
Check completed work to ensure accuracy and conformance with requirements.
Perform ongoing quality checks throughout fabrication and assembly.
Identify and report quality issues or unsafe conditions to management.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow all required safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Team Support
Assist other manufacturing employees when needed to support production goals.
Communicate work progress, problems, and completion status with supervision and other departments.
Assist in identifying solutions to fabrication or production challenges.
Help train temporary and newly hired employees as needed.
Perform additional manufacturing duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
35 years of industrial welding, fabrication, and blueprint-reading experience.
Ability to MIG and TIG weld mild and stainless steel.
Strong blueprint and technical drawing interpretation skills.
Experience laying out, cutting, fitting, and assembling fabricated components.
Experience with pipe and sheet metal fabrication.
Ability to operate common fabrication and metalworking equipment.
Basic mathematical skills.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, other departments, and supervision.
Strong attention to quality and safety.
Physical & Work Requirements
Ability to stand for prolonged periods on a concrete shop floor.
Ability to kneel, squat, stoop, climb, crawl, and bend as needed.
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds unassisted and heavier materials with the assistance of lifting equipment.
Comfortable working in a traditional industrial shop with loud noise, seasonal temperature variations, and potential exposure to fabrication-related fumes and odors.
Must wear required PPE and safety equipment.
Ability to work extended overtime when required, potentially 5060 hours per week.

The ideal
Master Builder is an experienced industrial fabricator who can take a project from
blueprint and layout through fabrication, welding, and final assembly. This person should be comfortable working with mild and stainless steel, operating a broad range of fabrication equipment, and completing custom work with limited supervision.
Candidates coming from
custom machinery, industrial equipment, structural fabrication, or machine-building environments should translate particularly well. The strongest candidates will combine strong MIG/TIG welding abilities with blueprint reading, layout, fit-up, fabrication, and overall mechanical aptitude.
