Overview:
The Master Data Administrator is responsible for centralized maintenance and integrity of Contec’s master data within its Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) environment, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with data retention requirements. This position actively engages and collaborates with cross functional teams, serving as an ERP subject matter expert for all master data related activities and related continuous improvement projects.
As a member of Contec’s IT ERP team, this individual understands how master data is used at Contec, is familiar with IT systems integration, and excels at identifying ways to improve data accuracy and reduce cycle times.
Responsibilities:
- Executes approved change requests within the ERP environment, as submitted by the responsible business owner.
- Supports internal and external audits by providing master-data documentation and evidence, explaining related controls and procedures, and supporting corrective actions.
- Identifies and implements process improvement opportunities with regards to master data maintenance in collaboration with the IT Applications Manager.
- Acts as an ERP master data subject matter expert to provide guidance as necessary for new data processes, maintenance, and analysis.
- Analyzes and resolves errors with master data.
- Identifies issues with master data process. Maintains and upgrades existing tools as required.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Project Leads, and IT team to resolve issues and ensure solutions are viable and consistent.
- Conducts regular reviews of systems and reports on efficiencies and areas of improvement.
- Escalates issues as they arise to the IT Applications Manager.

- Defines application problems by conferring with clients, evaluating processes and procedures.
- Develops and controls solutions by establishing specifications, coordinating production with other IT technical staff.
- Validates results by testing programs.
- Ensures operation by training client personnel and providing support.
- Creates IT system guidelines, manuals, and documentation for the organization.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Participates and works within ISO 9001 quality standards guidelines in accordance with Contec’s quality goals.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate or bachelor’s degree (B.A., B.S.) in an IT-related field or other data-oriented application support field; three-plus years practical experience working in supply chain, master data, or with ERP systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with master data processes and change management in an ERP environment is preferred; experience working with IFS Cloud ERP is a plus.
- Experience with various programming languages (C++, C#, VBA, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL) and Microsoft Power BI (server, database, and programming) is also preferred.
