    Master Electrician

    PRIMARY PURPOSE:

     

    Responsible for evaluating, organizing, and leading all preventative maintenance, routine maintenance, and emergency repair needs of District electrical systems.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education and Experience:

    • High School graduate or GED equivalent from an accredited institution (required)
    • -Valid State of Texas Master Electrician license (required)
    • Must have valid Texas driver's license
    • Maintain a satisfactory driving record that meets the standards of the District's insurance policy
    • Five years of electrical industry specific supervisory experience
    • Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills

     

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    • Plans, assigns, schedules, and supervises the work of journeymen electricians and electrician helpers engaged in installation, preventative maintenance, routine maintenance, and emergency repair of District electrical systems
    • Conducts periodic inspections and gives on-site supervision over hazardous or unusual work assignments
    • Assures availability of equipment, materials, and supplies
    • Initiates requisitions for tools, parts, and equipment
    • Estimates time and material cost required for special projects
    • Trains personnel in the safe operation of equipment and tools
    • Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle
    • Must be able to work at heights up to 50 feet
    • Routine observation of electrician's work assignments
    • Assists in the coverage of absences and the training of new employees.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of anyone in his line of authority

     

    Equipment Used: All the following hand tools and power tools associated with the electrical trade, but not limited to drills saws, hammer drills, pneumatic and electric man lifts, scaffolds ladders, basic hand tools, electronic test equipment, and trenchers, etc.

     

    Environment: Will work in, under, around, and outside all AISD facilities. Employee will be exposed to all environmental conditions found in this region of Texas. Working in trenches may be required.

     

    Physical Demands: Continuous lifting, climbing, reaching, stooping.
