Master Scheduler

Location: Santa Ana, CA

Compensation: $86,000 $125,000 annually + competitive benefits package

Employment Type: Full-Time

FLSA Status: Exempt

Schedule: Monday Friday (standard business hours; flexibility required to support production and scheduling needs)

About the Role

The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing and executing the master production schedule within an ERP-driven aerospace manufacturing environment. This role ensures alignment between customer demand, production capacity, and material availability while driving on-time delivery performance, inventory optimization, and efficient shop floor execution.

Essential Duties

  • Monitor MRP signals including material requirements, job releases, and exception/overdue reports
  • Develop and maintain master production schedules based on customer demand and capacity constraints
  • Own and manage finite capacity scheduling across production work centers to balance demand and throughput constraints
  • Review MPS/MRP data and customer portals to manage forecasts and maintain Min/Max inventory levels
  • Create, release, and maintain material requisitions and production work orders
  • Track material and outside vendor (OSV) processing requirements and ensure timely execution
  • Coordinate with production, engineering, purchasing, sales, and shipping/receiving teams to ensure workflow efficiency
  • Adjust schedules based on customer demand changes (expedites, push-outs, pull-ins)
  • Maintain ERP data integrity, including inventory accuracy and cycle count support
  • Analyze work center capacity and load to optimize production scheduling
  • Ensure ship-to-commit integrity and provide weekly/monthly delivery commitments
  • Monitor and reduce WIP and finished goods inventory levels
  • Execute inventory transactions from material issuance through shipment

Qualifications

Minimum 10+ years of production planning or master scheduling experience in aerospace or similar manufacturing environment

Strong experience with ERP/MRP systems (Epicor preferred)

Experience in capacity-constrained manufacturing environments required

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

APICS certification (CPIM or CFPIM) preferred

Preferred: Experience in machine shop, aerospace, automotive, or heavy equipment manufacturing

High-mix, high-variability production planning experience

Strong background in Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environments

Experience with cross-functional production coordination in complex environments

Experience in AS9100 or regulated aerospace manufacturing environments

Experience with precision machining and engineered components production planning
