Job Summary and Responsibilities

The California Hospital Medical Center Early Care and Education programs provide early care and education services for infants, toddlers, and pre-school children. Staff within these programs are charged with nurturing and stimulating the social, emotional, language, cognitive, and physical development of each child. Center-based Early Care and Education programs are open year-round from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Duties include:

  • Planning and preparing daily classroom activities.
  • Direct instructional services.
  • Maintaining high-quality classroom environments.
  • Daily record keeping.

Job Requirements

  • 2 years of experience working with children birth to five years.
  • BA in Child Development or a minimum of 24 Child Development units required.
  • Current CPR and First Aid training required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish language skills preferred.
  • California Department of Education Teacher Permit preferred.
