Master Technician
Role Overview
The Master Technician is a highly skilled and experienced automotive professional responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to the highest industry standards. This role requires advanced technical knowledge, precision, and the ability to mentor junior technicians. The Master Technician ensures all work is completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with manufacturer specifications and dealership standards.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Diagnostics and Repair
Perform complex diagnostics on mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems.
Accurately identify the root cause of vehicle issues and implement effective repairs.
Maintain knowledge of manufacturer recalls, service bulletins, and updates.
Maintenance and Service
Conduct routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
Ensure vehicles are road-ready and meet safety and performance standards.
Mentorship and Leadership
Provide guidance and training to junior and apprentice technicians.
Review and verify the work of other technicians for accuracy and quality.
Share knowledge of diagnostic tools, repair techniques, and best practices.
Documentation and Compliance
Complete repair orders and documentation accurately and timely.
Ensure compliance with all dealership policies, safety regulations, and manufacturer standards.
Maintain an organized workspace and proper handling of tools and equipment.
Skills & Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of an accredited automotive training program or technical school preferred.
Manufacturer-specific certifications or ASE Master Technician certifications highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of 5–7 years of experience as an automotive technician.
Proven experience with a broad range of vehicle makes and models, including modern electronic and hybrid systems.
Demonstrated expertise in advanced diagnostics and repair techniques.
