Join Us in Bend, Oregon as a Mastercam CNC Manufacturing Process Engineer (Aerospace)

Imagine starting your morning by opening a new aerospace work order in an AS9100-certified shop, reviewing the traveler and BOM, and mapping out the most efficient path to a flawless part. By midday, you’re creating and validating 3- and 4-axis toolpaths in Mastercam for mill, lathe, and multi-tasking mill/turn work. In the afternoon, you’re on the floor with Machinists proving out code, dialing in feeds and speeds, and capturing improvements for the next run. Between cycles, you design a custom work-holding fixture in SolidWorks that unlocks higher repeatability and throughput. That’s a day in this role.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and verify Mastercam programs for 3- and 4-axis mills and lathes, including complex mill/turn operations.
  • Collaborate on prove-outs with Machinists; refine programs for safety, accuracy, and optimal cycle times.
  • Design fixtures and tooling in SolidWorks to support rigid, reliable setups for tight-tolerance aerospace components.
  • Create setup sheets, validate Bills of Materials, and maintain travelers for clear, consistent execution on the floor.
  • Champion continuous improvement while aligning with AS9100 standards; coordinate closely with Management, Quality, and Production Control to resolve technical issues.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of hands-on programming for 3- and 4-axis CNC equipment; aerospace background preferred.
  • Expert-level Mastercam capability; SolidWorks and ERP exposure (Infor Visual) is a plus.
  • Deep fluency in GD&T and advanced shop math (including trigonometry).
  • Experience machining both metallic and non-metallic materials and familiarity with precision sheet metal processes.
  • Clear, professional communication; able to operate independently while fostering a culture of respect and ethical responsibility.

Technical Proficiencies

  • CNC Tooling; CNC Programming
  • G-Code and M-Code
  • CNC Machine Setup & Changeover
  • Precision Measurement & Hand Metrology
  • Advanced Inspection & Gauge Measurement

Equipment & Platforms You’ll Work With

  • CNC Mill (3–4 axis VMC): Fanuc, DMG Mori Seiki, Okuma, Haas
  • CNC Lathe (2–4 axis): Haas, Okuma, DMG Mori Seiki
  • CAM: Mastercam, Autodesk Fusion 360
  • CNC Mill (5+ axis VMC): Fanuc, DMG Mori Seiki, Haas, Okuma
  • CNC Lathe (5+ axis): Okuma, Nakamura, DMG Mori Seiki
