Job Summary:

This position is responsible for managing the planning and execution of material movements between locations. This will include internal moves between company owned/operated sites, inbound material from suppliers, and inbound material from third party storage. He/she is responsible for planning transportation that meets cost and service objectives, and ensuring effective coordination and communication between carriers, plant locations, and the customer service team from scheduling through delivery.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Determine raw and packaging materials needed to cover production demand.
  • Identify material and planning conflicts that could result in compromised customer due dates and communicate immediately to Planning.
  • Work with Planning group to review all open orders, material status, and packaging timing to meet customer commitments. Communicate any issues/concerns to Planning immediately.
  • Work with materials group to assure material movement between locations is completed as required and questionable inventory is cleaned up.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance and other internal team members for any quality related material disruptions.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements and efficiencies in inventory management, capacity utilization and purchasing as applicable.
  • Prepare daily and monthly inventory/shipping receiving reports.
  • Track inventory levels.
  • Utilize best practices in the execution of daily responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, customer service, and other departments.
  • Cycle count and reconcile inventory including floor counts and rack counts.
  • Loading and unloading materials and finished goods as needed.
  • Retrieving pallets from the racks and floor locations for quality inspections.
  • Consolidation of pallets to prepare for shipping.
  • Reviewing shipping paperwork for inventory accuracy.
  • Attaching BOL & COA's to customer orders into Oracle
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • ERP/MRP system experience required.
  • Previous forklift experience on both sit down and high reach lifts and the ability to obtain certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience or course of study in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation Management, or Operations Management strongly preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficient in spreadsheet software, e- mail, and manufacturing systems to perform job duties.
  • Strong analytical skills, high detail orientation and organizational skills are critical to success in this role.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary due to the significant interactions required to ensure alignment and coordination across the groups.
  • The candidate should be flexible and able to quickly adjust as the situation changes.
  • Creative problem-solving skills required for success with minimal supervision.

Additional Considerations:

  • Travel Expectation: Travel to Allentown warehouse as needed
  • This position will be at the Congdon Warehouse in Alburtis.
  • Relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Approximately 90% of work is performed in office environment, 10% off-site including plants, off-site and trainings.
