Material Coordinator II
Location: Milan, IL 61264
Job Type: 12-month contract, W2
Expected hours per week: 40 hours per week, OT available
Schedule: On-site, 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday, 1pm-9:30pm
Pay Range: $25.00 - $26.00 per hour
Job Description:
Material & Order Coordination
Monitor order queues and production workflows to ensure timely completion of customer orders.
Track material availability and coordinate deliveries to support production schedules.
Identify material shortages, supply constraints, and at-risk orders, escalating issues as needed.
Assist in implementing recovery plans to minimize production delays and customer impact.
Coordinate material movement between departments and support inventory accuracy initiatives.
Production & Cross-Functional Support
Serve as a liaison between production, warehouse, planning, purchasing, and other support teams.
Coordinate daily department priorities and material-related activities.
Communicate production updates, material status, and schedule changes to stakeholders.
Support workforce planning and departmental scheduling activities as needed.
Reporting & Analysis
Track and report key metrics including on-time delivery, backlog, aged orders, inventory levels, and production performance.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to materials, inventory transactions, and order status.
Assist supervisors in identifying trends and opportunities for operational improvement.
Training & Compliance
Coordinate employee training schedules and maintain training documentation.
Support compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
Assist with audits, inventory assessments, and corrective action tracking.
Process Improvement
Identify process gaps affecting material flow, inventory control, and order fulfillment.
Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing waste.
Maintain standard operating procedures and departmental work instructions.
Resource Management
Monitor operational supply levels and coordinate replenishment activities.
Track equipment service requests and maintenance needs.
Support inventory management, cycle counting, and material control processes.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
2+ years of experience in material coordination, inventory control, production planning, logistics, supply chain, warehouse operations, or manufacturing support.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Experience working with ERP, MRP, inventory management, or order management systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Knowledge of inventory management, material planning, and supply chain processes.
Experience tracking KPIs and operational metrics.
Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies.
