Job Title: Material Handler
Shift: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
Pay: $16/HR
Position Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, staging, moving, and supplying materials throughout an industrial sewing production facility. This role ensures that production lines have the correct materials, components, and supplies available at the right time to maintain workflow, minimize downtime, and support on?time production goals.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, identify, and transport raw materials, components, and finished goods within the facility
Stage materials at production lines according to production schedules and work orders
Deliver materials to sewing and assembly lines to support continuous workflow
Remove completed or excess materials from production areas as needed
Perform basic visual checks of materials for damage, accuracy, or shortages
Accurately record material movements, inventory transactions, and production pulls as required
Maintain organization and cleanliness of material storage and staging areas (5S standards)
Operate material handling equipment as assigned (carts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, etc.)
Follow all safety policies, PPE requirements, and material handling procedures
Communicate material shortages, inconsistencies, or delays to supervisors or leads
Support inventory counts and audits as needed
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Strong attention to detail and organization
Ability to work in a fast?paced manufacturing environment
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications
Previous material handling, warehouse, or manufacturing experience
Experience supporting production lines in a textile or sewn?products environment
Familiarity with inventory systems, work orders, or basic tracking documentation
Forklift or powered industrial truck experience (certification a plus, if applicable)
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods
Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
Repetitive use of hands and arms
Work Environment
Industrial sewing and manufacturing facility
Exposure to machinery, noise, moving equipment, and varying materials
