Job Title: Material Handler
1st shift 6:15am to 2:15pm
Pay - $16.00
Position Summary
The Material Handler supports daily warehouse operations by moving, staging, picking, packing, and preparing apparel products for shipment. This role plays a key part in ensuring inventory is handled accurately, safely, and efficiently while meeting productivity and quality standards in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick, pack, sort, and stage apparel orders according to work instructions and customer requirements
- Load and unload cartons or pallets from trailers, conveyors, or staging areas
- Move product throughout the facility using pallet jacks, carts, or other material handling equipment
- Accurately scan items and locations using RF scanners or warehouse systems
- Verify quantities, styles, sizes, and SKUs to ensure order accuracy
- Build pallets and prepare shipments for outbound delivery
- Assist with receiving, putaway, replenishment, and inventory counts as needed
- Inspect products and packaging for visible damage or discrepancies and report issues promptly
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Meet productivity, quality, and attendance expectations
- Follow all safety policies, SOPs, and operational guidelines
- Support other warehouse functions (including VAS, picking, packing, or sorting) during peak periods
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous warehouse or distribution experience preferred (apparel experience a plus)
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with strong attention to detail
- Basic computer or RF scanner experience preferred
- Dependable, team-oriented, and quality focused
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including overtime during peak seasons
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to push, pull, and move product throughout the facility
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment
