About us
LAEPPLE Automotive is a leading supplier in the automotive industry, specializing in high-quality components and systems for body components manufacturing. Our innovative technologies and efficient production processes set benchmarks in the industry. To grow our team in Detroit, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Material Handler for our afternoon shift manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be experienced in the operation of material handling equipment (i.e. fork truck, pallet jack, etc.) with strong organizational skills, process orientation, and safety mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure orderly production and distribution of components and products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies, and staging finished product for final distribution while maintain a safe working environment.
Contribute to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area(s).
Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages or overages based upon min/max quantities.
Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies lined on production orders and BOMs.
Maintain in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
Locate and pack materials for shipping.
Document materials and record units delivered and location of units.
Prepare finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
Maintain material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and making operator repairs.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items and/or load materials onto and off trucks and loading docks.
Keep inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean and well maintained.
Open containers, sort, and catalog materials.
Adhere to workplace safety and quality regulations.
Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
Minimum of two (2) years of material handling experience;
Valid drivers license and safe driving record;
Ability to be certified to operate powered industrial vehicles;
Previous experience operating a forklift and other material handling equipment (i.e. pallet jack, hand truck, etc.);
Previous inventory management and ERP system experience (SAP a plus).

Proficiency with prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines;

Knowledge of inventory control;
Ability to lift materials (50 pounds);
Strong computer and data entry skills;
Desire to work in a team-based, lean manufacturing environment;
Ability and willingness to work any shift, as well as overtime, as required to meet business
requirements.
Proven reliability and exceptional attendance record.
