The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring that all technicians and internal teams have the necessary parts, materials, and supplies to perform their work effectively. Key duties include replenishing inventory, preparing and assembling packaging materials, managing waste removal, and organizing pallets for production use. The position plays a critical role in supporting smooth operations and maintaining a safe, orderly workspace.

Essential Responsibilities:

The following essential functions represent the primary work performed; however, other responsibilities could be expected that are not detailed here but fall within the scope of this role.

  • Maintain an organized and efficient repair, warehouse, and production area by:

  • Pick and replenish computer-related parts and supplies for team members in repair, production, and warehouse departments

  • Preparing pallets for production by removing vendor packaging materials including wrapping, bands, and excess cardboard to support a clean and efficient production process

  • Collecting and disposing of computer box packaging and cardboard utilizing a tilt truck

  • Support production processes by pre-assembling packing materials for production staff

  • Monitor repair holding bins to ensure received materials are properly paired with devices requiring repair; once matched, deliver the devices and materials to repair technicians

  • Perform assigned daily cycle counts of inventory, ensuring adequate inventory of materials and parts to support internal and external customer requirements

  • Operate forklifts and other electric or manual pallet jacks

Minimum Skills, Abilities, and Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1+ years of progressive experience in warehouse, inventory management, stocking or another related warehouse or inventory role
  • Detail oriented and ability to accurately enter data and other information relevant to manage inventory
  • Creative, and results oriented mindset with strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with others
  • Curiosity to identify and solve issues and contribute toward process improvement
  • Self-directed work style, able to work autonomously, prioritize and deliver results

Technology and Systems:

  • ERP System (preferably Infor CSI)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)

Work Environment, Physical, and Mental Demands:

This role will primarily perform their work in a production warehouse environment and interact with team members throughout the facility in both office and production warehouse environments.

The Material Handler will work with and around a variety of industrial warehouse tools, equipment and vehicles, such as forklifts, electric and non-electric pallet jacks, hand trucks, tilt trucks and packaging machines, in an environment that includes exposure to loud noise levels, vibration, dust, fumes, mechanical hazards, bright lights and hot or cold temperatures. While performing the duties of this position, incumbents may be expected to do any of the following, with or without accommodation:

  • Use tools, machinery, or equipment at their workstation for long periods, up to an entire shift, managing the controls of the tools, machinery or equipment in a safe and effective manner
  • Use computer keyboard, mobile device, desktop computer, laptop, calculator, telephone, walkie talkie, copy machine and other production warehouse tools or controls
  • Mentally focus on tasks and apply sound reasoning and judgement
  • Review documents, monitors or displays with potentially small print
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, face shields, hard hats, masks, gloves or other PPE if required safety and effectively
  • Move through the production warehouse facility on potentially uneven or slippery surface
  • Follow all safety process and respond to safety control noises or alarms such as fire alarm, forklifts horns, and machinery alerts
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and practices
  • Reach under, over, above or around workstation, equipment, machinery or other objects such as bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing to perform work
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds and potentially heavier weights with the proper equipment

The typical workdays and hours are M-F 8am-4:30pm
