Position Overview
The Material Handler is responsible for moving, organizing, and staging materials in a weld fabrication shop to support production flow. This Material Handler role ensures inventory accuracy, timely material delivery, and a safe, organized work environment. The ideal Material Handler is dependable, safety-conscious, and experienced in manufacturing material handling operations.
Required Experience & Skills
Previous experience in material handling within a manufacturing environment
Ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, and hoists
Experience with inventory systems and tracking materials
Ability to read and follow bill of materials, drawings, and pick lists
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
Valid driver s license required
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Manage and maintain inventory systems and counts
Pull and stage materials based on bill of materials and work orders
Cut pipe and prepare materials for welding operations
Deliver materials to workstations to support production teams
Load and unload trucks and verify incoming shipments
Operate material handling equipment safely
Ensure proper labeling and identification of all materials
Complete required documentation and paperwork accurately
Maintain organization of materials, including outdoor storage areas
Cross-train in hydro testing and painting operations
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
Work Environment
Fabrication shop and outdoor work areas
Exposure to weather, noise, machinery, and industrial materials
Physically demanding role requiring lifting, standing, and movement throughout shift
May work independently for extended periods
