Material Handler
Pay Rate: $22.70/hr. (including shift differential)
Location: Columbus, NE
Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM, rotating schedule including weekends
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler 1 to support warehouse and distribution operations. This position involves picking customer orders, scanning and labeling products, operating material handling equipment, preparing shipments, and maintaining accuracy and safety in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Pick pallets and cases according to customer orders
- Scan products using barcode and RF technology
- Pick, label, pack, and prepare boxes for shipment
- Follow SOPs, work instructions, GDP, and established warehouse procedures
- Complete required RF and equipment training
- Verify order accuracy and ensure proper shipment packaging
- Palletize and re-palletize products as needed
- Prepare and verify dock manifests
- Operate shrink-wrapping equipment
- Safely operate and walk with material handling equipment
- Maintain accurate inventory and shipment information
- Follow all safety, quality, security, and attendance requirements
- Report safety incidents, quality concerns, and other issues to management
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Participate in C2C training and cross-training opportunities
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or 1 year of relevant experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to work a rotating 6:00 PM–6:00 AM schedule, including weekends
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced distribution environment
- Ability to read and understand distribution documents and work instructions
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team with minimal supervision
- Experience with MHE, RF scanners, or voice-directed technology preferred
- Walkie Rider experience preferred
- General knowledge of warehouse/distribution operations
- Ability to meet productivity and accuracy metrics
- Strong organizational, analytical, and prioritization skills
