Job Title: Material Handler (Lumber Yard) Pay: $20.00/hour Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – Finish (Mandatory overtime required; shifts may extend as late as 9:00 PM)
Position Overview: We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Material Handler to join our team at a busy lumber yard. This is a long-term opportunity with excellent benefits and growth potential. Candidates will begin in a banding role, with the opportunity to advance into a forklift operator position once trained and certified.
Key Responsibilities:
Band and strap together pulled lumber and building materials for shipment
Accurately pull orders using an RF scanner
Perform heavy, repetitive lifting of lumber and materials (up to 80 lbs)
Work outdoors in various weather conditions
Maintain organization of materials and staging areas
Safely operate a forklift (after certification) to transport materials to packaging and staging areas
Follow all safety procedures and workplace guidelines
Growth Opportunity:
Start in a banding role to learn materials and processes
Advance into a forklift operator position upon demonstrated proficiency and certification
Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs consistently throughout the shift
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Willingness to work mandatory overtime and flexible hours (up to 9:00 PM as needed)
Previous warehouse, material handling, or lumber experience preferred
RF scanner and/or forklift experience is a plus (not required to start)
Strong reliability and attendance record
Demonstrated longevity in previous positions is highly preferred
