PGS Worldwide is seeking a Material Handler in Endicott, NY for a 5-month contract to hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Material Handler will support stockroom, receiving, inventory, kitting, material movement, paperwork inspection, and electronic transaction activity in a manufacturing and warehouse environment. This role requires stockroom or receiving experience, computer data entry skills, inventory accuracy, basic math skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing, stockkeeping, receiving, warehousing, material handling, or a related environment.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehousing environment.
  • Ability to operate a hand jack.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
  • Computer literacy for data entry, product status updates, and time entry.
  • Ability to read and fully understand written instructions in English.
  • Ability to follow work instructions unless authorized to deviate.
  • Ability to handle materials according to required handling procedures.
  • Ability to review and input required data into computer systems.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentage calculations.
  • Ability to perform and understand required measurements and dimensions.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, electrostatic discharge requirements for manufacturing or material handling.
  • Ability to understand statistical process control data.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and visual acuity.

  • Stockroom experience.
  • Receiving experience.
  • Inventory control experience.
  • Kitting or piece-part picking experience.
  • Experience performing electronic stockkeeping transactions.
  • Experience with ESD equipment or ESD-controlled material handling.
  • Experience using hand tools such as soldering irons, screwdrivers, crimpers, tweezers, scalpels, scissors, microscopes, vices, or thermal strippers.
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, electronics manufacturing, or high-reliability production environments.

What You'll Do

  • Handle materials and parts in a stockroom and receiving environment.
  • Sort packages and perform electronic material transactions.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Count parts and complete required paperwork.
  • Perform paperwork inspection and communicate with other internal groups.
  • Perform stockkeeping tasks and stockkeeping transactions.
  • Support basic to moderately complex troubleshooting and data manipulation.
  • Follow material plans to pick and prepare parts for distribution to the floor or stockroom operations.
  • Put away parts, fill bins, pick piece parts into kits, and prepare materials for distribution.
  • Move product from one stage to the next step in the manufacturing process.
  • Use tools and devices required by assembly or material handling instructions.
  • Maintain required certifications through hands-on training, written tests, work sample review, and visual examination.
  • Follow required handling, ESD, safety, and process requirements.

Work Schedule / Shift

  • 1st shift.
  • Monday Friday.
  • Typical hours are 7:30 AM 4:00 PM.
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • Overtime expected as needed.
  • No travel required.

Pay

  • $17.22/hour
