Requirements

• Ability to read mechanical drawings to determine needed material.
• Knowledge of Ryder portal to arrange LTL and expedite shipments.
• Effectively using multiple software programs to order, receive, ship, and track material to and from the warehouse.
• Including Hazmat material with appropriate shipping documents.

Job Duties

The Material Handler is responsible for inventory management and inventory control metrics in a 24/7 shop environment. An ideal candidate will be pulling material from the warehouse for shop use and ensuring material is issued to the correct locomotive with all necessary information: position, serial number, removal reason, service sheet. In addition, talent will be managing weekly stockouts, including obtaining updated estimated times of arrival for completely stocked out parts or parts low on stock; cycle counting; and inbound material forecasting needs.

What You Will Do

As a Material Handler you will receive, move, stage, load, unload, organize, and transport materials throughout warehouse or manufacturing operations. You will verify inventory, maintain accurate product locations, prepare materials for production or shipment, assist with inventory control, and help ensure safe, efficient movement of products while following established workplace procedures.

The Material Handler is responsible for safely handling materials that support manufacturing, warehouse, and distribution operations. This role requires physical capability, organization, and a commitment to maintaining efficient inventory movement throughout daily operations.
