Weekend shift position (Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm) with a pay range of $25.35-28.40/hr.

The Material Handler position is an individual contributor in the Elkhart facility. This person must be a highly driven individual that will operate material handling equipment including machines like cranes, forklift, shag truck, and other material handling equipment. Match incoming parts to paper documents to verify part numbers, size, quantity, and inspect for damage. Operate industrial trucks or tractors equipped to move materials around a warehouse, storage yard, factory, construction site.

Essential Functions

  • Operate material handling equipment including machines like cranes, forklift, shag truck, and other material handling equipment.
  • Operate a powered industrial truck (e.g., forklift) in all weather conditions (indoor/outdoor operation).
  • Total compliance with all Company personal protective equipment policies.
  • Observe and maintain all safety procedures, policies and regulations.
  • Load and unload trucks, using a forklift and other material handling mechanisms.
  • Transport products and materials within the plant and back and forth from yard to plant.
  • Supplying manufacturing work stations from stored raw materials.
  • Reporting damaged good and material shortages and verifying inventory levels .
  • Perform daily Cycle Counts as needed.
  • Other duties as required and/or assigned.

  • Must be able to work with other employees to complete job.
  • This position reports to the Production Supervisor.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must have an acceptable attendance and prior employment record.
  • Forklift certification or the ability to acquire a forklift certification
  • 1 - 3 years of powered industrial truck (e.g., forklift) in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift, push and/or pull a maximum of 50 lbs
  • Ability to physically lift, push or pull up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrated strengths in interpersonal skills, including the ability to adapt and professionally communicate with a variety of people.

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must have an acceptable attendance and prior employment record.
  • Minimum 1 - 3 years of experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment operating industrial trucks and equipment.
  • Strong hands-on working knowledge operating machines in a production environment.
  • Ability to physically lift, push or pull up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrated strengths in interpersonal skills, including the ability to adapt and professionally communicate with a variety of people.
