U.S. Lumber an SBP brand is currently looking for a Material Handler on 1st shift to work in our Indianapolis IN facility.

Our Material Handlers are responsible for performing a number of different and important responsibilities including material receiving, material & product movement, product shipping, and production support responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Receive, audit, inspect, ID, and put away incoming material to proper locations.
  • Maintain housekeeping and organization in warehouse and other material location area.
  • Maintain correct inventories by moving materials in computer when physically moving materials.
  • Assists assigning production areas when not moving materials.
  • Ensure the product and/or materials meet quality expectations.
  • Notify supervisor of improvement opportunities.
  • Support area needs to remove empty pallets, trash, and recycle type materials.
  • Clean all parts and pieces using sandpaper, acetone on a cloth rag, or using air hose to blow off dust in tough to reach areas to ensure parts and pieces are ready to be painted.
  • Service the pre-finish line with needed material components, loading paint carts with frame parts and doors.
  • Assist pre-finish line area with removal of completed product to go to build prep and/or stretch-wrap machine.
  • Stage completed and stretched wrapped door products into shipping staging lanes by loads.
  • Load trucks with finished door products per direction of Production Manager.
  • Responsible for adhering to forklift operational quality and safety guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Experience: One to two years related experience.
  • Computer Skills: Experience using computer and handheld scanning gun.
  • Certificates & Licenses: OSHA Forklift certification.

Other Requirements

  • Previous experience in material handling responsibilities in a production environment.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
