Material Handler / Forklift Operator 

Job at a Glance 

• Location: Halifax, VA 24558 

• Scheduled Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. 

• Pay Rate: $25 per hour 

• Overtime: Overtime will be required at various intervals. This is an Essential Personnel Position that will require after-hours work on occasion. 

• Driving: Will be driving a company vehicle and will also need to get forklift certified at the job site. 

Responsibilities 

• Accurately read, interpret and comply with company and departmental procedures. 

• Check and maintain stock inventory. 

• Operate a personal computer. 

• Perform basic data entry required to track inventory. 

• Operate a forklift and truck. 

• Lift 65 lbs. 

• Respond to customers regarding the availability of stocked items and provide needed support as necessary. 

Qualifications 

Top 3 Required Skills: 

• Safety. 

• Ability and experience to operate a forklift. 

• Must be dependable and follow instruction. 

Additional Qualifications: 

• Preferred years of experience: At least 1 year. 

• High School Diploma/GED. 

• Forklift Certification is required. Must also be company certified once hired. 

• Attention to detail and basic math skills. 

• Strong verbal skills/ability to work effectively alone and with a team. Must be self-motivated. 

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. 

• Ability to lead, collaborate, or work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams.
