Material Handler Forklift Operator
Job Location: Petaluma, California
Job Type: Temporary
Pay Rate: $21-$21.50/hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 6am-2:30pm
Expect to work overtime as needed. Will also be asked to work some Saturdays.
Description of Position:
Are you an experienced forklift operator looking for your next opportunity? Our client is seeking a skilled Material Handler with forklift experience to join their warehouse team. The right candidate will have strong attention to detail, a sold work ethic, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a dynamic environment. This assignment will last at least a month long, but could become permanent for the right person.
Job Responsibilities:
- Use Hilo, sit-down forklift and pallet jacks as necessary
- Loads and unloads trucks
- Labels incoming shipments as directed
- Ensures order pickers and production cells have access to materials as necessary
- Uses computer to check inventory locations
- Issues material to the manufacturing floor upon completion of the production process
- Conducts inventory transactions on appropriate transaction sheet with accuracy
- Picks orders for shipment
- Maintains a safe and clean warehouse, including equipment
- Adheres to all safety regulations
- Cross trains in other Warehouse/Receiving and Shipping departments as needed

Experience Required:
- Work Experience: 2 years of driving a Hi-Lo in a warehouse or shipping/receiving environment or related experience
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Computer Skills: Ability to learn RIF scanner
- Organization Skills: Ability to efficiently work in a high paced environment
- Cross-functional Skills: Ability to work with other team members on the production/warehouse floor
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate cross-functionally throughout the organization
Physical Demands:
This role requires regular standing, walking, lifting (up to 50lbs), and operating warehouse equipment. Candidates must be able to bend, reach, grip, and perform repetitive movements. Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise and exposure to moving mechanical parts. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience: 5 years of driving a Hi-Lo in a warehouse or shipping/receiving environment or related experience
Computer Skills: Previous experience with RIF scanner
Certification: Hi-Lo Certification
