About the Role:
As a vital member of our production team, the Material Handler (Forklift Operator) ensures the seamless flow of materials, ingredients, and finished products within our warehouse and production facilities. Your expertise in operating various powered industrial trucks will help maintain efficient operations, support production timelines, and uphold safety standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a diverse range of powered industrial trucks, including narrow aisle lifts (Flexi), propane-powered sit-down forklifts, stand-up electric reach trucks, sit-down swing reach trucks, and manual/electric pallet jacks.
- Utilize handheld scanners daily to accurately track inventory, bin locations, and component movement.
- Deliver raw materials and packaging supplies to production areas and restock warehouse bins to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Retrieve and store finished goods in designated warehouse areas, maintaining proper storage and staging procedures.
- Assist in quarantine and disposal of components, including finished products as needed.
- Perform routine pre-operation inspections on equipment, promptly reporting maintenance issues or safety hazards.
- Navigate safely within tight warehouse spaces, handling high-traffic areas with awareness and precision.
- Support warehouse organization, inventory cycle counts, and housekeeping efforts to uphold a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, including PPE usage, cGMP guidelines, forklift recertification, and participation in safety programs such as Hearing Conservation.
- Carry out food safety and quality procedures responsibly, escalating issues when necessary to ensure compliance.
- Maintain consistent, reliable attendance to support continuous warehouse and production activity.

Qualifications & Skills:
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to interpret pick sheets, safety instructions, warehouse maps, and procedures.
- Strong spatial awareness, with the ability to operate equipment safely in confined and narrow spaces.
- Focused and vigilant in a fast-paced, equipment-intensive setting.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration across departments.
- Dedication to safety and food safety standards, with a proactive approach to hazard prevention.
Education & Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- At least 1 year of forklift operation experience.
- Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
- Experience in food or supplement manufacturing is a plus.
- Familiarity with lean practices such as 5S and warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous.
Physical Demands:
- Capability to stand, sit, walk, and perform lengthy periods of physical activity, including lifting up to 50 lbs routinely and handling heavier loads with assistance.
- Ability to reach overhead, bend, push, pull, and maneuver pallets weighing up to 900 lbs.
- Use of hands and arms for control operation, with occasional ladder climbing for inventory access.
- Visual and auditory acuity required to operate equipment safely and respond to environmental cues.
