We are seeking a dependable and proactive Material Handler II to become a vital part of our manufacturing operations at Scotts Temecula. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining smooth material flow, ensuring inventory accuracy, and supporting a safe, efficient work environment. This is a temporary assignment with the potential for full-time employment, working first shift.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate forklifts and other industrial machinery to unload, move, and load materials within the facility, yard, or work site.
Manage inbound and outbound materials processing, including receiving, quality verification, and inventory organization.
Accurately enter Goods Receipt data into SAP (training provided).
Open containers using hand tools, remove scrap, and restack inventory while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Secure and transport materials using hand trucks, cranes, hoists, forklifts, and other equipment as needed.
Assemble crates and containers for the transportation or storage of products such as machines or vehicles.
Manage kanban storage areas and participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory and material handling.
Support production by assisting with equipment movement and distribution tasks.
Perform housekeeping duties to keep the work area compliant with safety and environmental standards.
Backup all receiving and distribution operations and support various project needs as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, rugged settings.
Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks involving standing, walking, lifting (50 lbs or more), climbing, bending, and twisting for extended periods.
Valid forklift certification and demonstrated proficiency in operating forklift equipment; successful completion of internal safety evaluations required.
Strong communication skills and computer literacy, with experience in SAP or similar ERP systems highly preferred.
Deep understanding of safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and a steadfast commitment to workplace safety.
Adaptable attitude with a willingness to learn new skills and respond to changing operational needs.
Ability to work overtime and flexible hours as business demands.
