Overview:
Responsible for operating necessary equipment to store, supply, and move materials for manufacturing processes as required.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures production processes are supplied with materials as instructed
- Perform written safety checks on material handling equipment
- Performs weigh counts for materials and stores them as necessary
- Removes trash from manufacturing areas
- Assists in manufacturing processes and changeovers as requested
- Operates material movement equipment as needed in a safe and efficient manner to prevent injury to self, others and other equipment
- Maintains a clean work area, consolidates containers of like parts and moves empty containers to designated storage areas
- Enters production on “make” items, generates move or scrap transactions as needed to ensure inventory accuracy, and keeps proper identification with material in the department
- Verifies and maintains product identification and count
- Moves properly marked material to non-conforming hold area as instructed by supervision and performs necessary transactions
- Supports departmental goals and objectives for safety, quality, production and equipment maintenance
- Supports receiving by verifying conformance to invoices and stocking all received components on the appropriate shelf location
- Responsible for accurate weighing and documenting of scrapped materials for inventory accuracy, communicates issues or concerns with supervisor and/or production lead
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Skills:
- Ability to complete a Powered Industrial Truck training offered by the organization
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions, and apply to work standards
- Listens and obtains clarification, responds well to questions
- Ability to communicate in verbal and written English
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Significant experience and skills in the field may be considered in lieu of diploma or equivalent.
