Job Title: Warehouse Material Handler - Kitting (Builder) Associate
Location: Charlotte, NC 10000 Twin lakes Parkway

Shift: 5:00am-1:30pm (Monday-Friday). Potential for daily overtime and Saturday shifts on as-needed basis

Starting Rate of Pay: $19.50


Job Overview: 

The Kitting (Builder) Associate is responsible for assembling sub-assemblies and kit packages in alignment with standard work, production plans, and customer requirements. This role ensures accurate, complete, and on-time builds by verifying components, executing work instructions, and maintaining strong quality and safety standards in a fast-paced distribution and assembly environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute kitting and sub-assembly builds in accordance with standard work, BOM, and work instructions (LCD/visual aids).
  • Prioritize and complete work based on daily production plans, including high-priority orders (SEV, HOT, ELF, REQ).
  • Verify all components, quantities, and part numbers prior to assembly to ensure accuracy and prevent defects.
  • Ensure all builds meet quality standards before moving to the next process (no defects passed forward).
  • Accurately complete required documentation (picked material sheet and production bill of material) and record work performed.
  • Monitor plan vs. actual performance and maintain productivity expectations based on assigned work content (CT).
  • Immediately escalate discrepancies including missing parts, incorrect instructions, quality issues, or system gaps.
  • Support problem-solving efforts by identifying root causes and participating in corrective actions.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in alignment with safety standards and 5S/Lean practices.
  • Follow all PPE requirements and report safety concerns or hazards without delay.
  • Support cross-training and assist in onboarding new team members as assigned.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts (Kaizen, process improvements, layout optimization).
  • Perform additional duties as required to support operational needs.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • 1+ years’ experience in manufacturing or distribution industry 

Preferences: 

  • Prior experience in distribution, warehouse, or light assembly preferred; training provided.
  • Basic ability to navigate work instruction platforms and production systems (RF scanner, computers, WMS/SAP).
  • Clear and effective communication with Leads, Supervisors, and team members.
  • Strong attention to detail, accountability, and ability to work independently within a team setting.
  • Ability to be trained and certified on

 

Core Competencies:  

  • Standing: Standing is required in periods of up to three hours at a time. 
  • Stooping: Would be required to lift objects off pallets 
  • Hand Dexterity: Must be able to work with hand tools, screws and gauges, as well as operating buttons on controls. 
  • Verbal Communication: Must be capable of clear communication between co-workers and supervisor. 

Work Environment & Requirements

  • This is a fully onsite role requiring the ability to stand or walk for the duration of the shift in a fast-paced environment, with frequent bending and stooping. The role also requires regularly lifting up to 40 pounds unassisted and working in a non-climate-controlled environment.
