Job Summary
The Material Handler plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations by ensuring accurate material handling, inventory control, and timely delivery of components to production lines. This position requires a high level of precision, strong system knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where accuracy directly impacts production flow.
Job Description
Perform a variety of material handling and inventory control tasks to support manufacturing operations
Receive, count, inspect, and stock raw materials with a high degree of accuracy
Ensure proper packaging, labeling, part identification, stock rotation (FIFO), and shelf-life management
Interpret and execute pick/order tickets with 100% accuracy
Complete detailed inventory transactions in warehouse management systems (e.g., SAP), ensuring full traceability
Deliver materials to production and shipping areas in accordance with standard processes and timelines
Prepare, configure, and package material kits for production or upgrades
Receive, sort, inspect, and validate returned materials, including warranty checks
Monitor and maintain bin accuracy and inventory integrity; escalate discrepancies as needed
Maintain precise and organized documentation of all material movements
Follow and enforce all workplace safety protocols in a manufacturing environment
Skills Required
Experience in material handling within a manufacturing or warehouse environment
Working knowledge of inventory processes such as cycle counting, FIFO, bin accuracy, labeling, and Min/Max levels
Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (SAP preferred)
Familiarity with RF scanners for inventory tracking (preferred)
Ability to accurately read and interpret pick lists, work orders, and inventory documentation
Experience operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and reel counters
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to zero-error accuracy
Ability to maintain precise, real-time records of inventory transactions
Basic English reading and writing skills for communication and documentation
Consistently ensures inventory and order accuracy under pressure
Identifies discrepancies (e.g., bin count issues) and takes appropriate corrective or escalation actions
Able to meet tight production deadlines without compromising quality
Coordinates effectively with production, shipping, and quality teams
Quickly learns systems, processes, and product requirements
Proactively identifies hazards and follows proper reporting procedures
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials, including frequent lifting over 20 lbs
Capable of prolonged standing, sitting, repetitive motion, and working in confined spaces
Ability to climb and safely operate within a production environment
Sustained concentration when working with small parts, inventory systems, and screens
Comfortable working in a manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, dust, temperature changes, and machinery
Education
Highschool diploma or GED
Pay Rate
$19 per hour (Compensation is offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)
