Material Handler

DEPARTMENT: Supply Chain

REPORTS TO: Logistics Supervisor

SHIFT: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility for Material Movement and Order Picking is to pick materials and parts for internal assembly operations and customer orders. This role provides a crucial link between Receiving, Inventory, Assembly, Parts Fulfillment, and Shipping. Attention to Detail and Sense of Urgency are critical soft skills necessary for success in this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Efficiently pick materials and parts for internal assembly operations and customer orders using material pick lists
• Verify order fulfillment accuracy by comparing pick list documents to materials in a box or on a skid
• Package parts to meet customer requirements, including placing parts in boxes, applying labels, using packing materials
• Operate forklift or other material handling equipment in and around warehouse
• Perform work in accordance with Company safety rules and guidelines
• Follow department processes, procedures, and work instructions
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Previous work experience as an order picker or material handler
• Previous experience operating material handling equipment, i.e. forklift, hand truck
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings/prints, and procedure manuals.
• Critical Soft Skills: Detail-Oriented, Sense of Urgency, Effectiveness in Pressure Situations
