Material Handler/ Machine Operator
Job Title: Material Handler/ Machine Operator

Position Summary: The Machine Operator plays a key role in keeping production running efficiently and delivering the quality craftsmanship Valley Cabinet is known for. In this hands-on position, you'll operate advanced manufacturing equipment, monitor performance, maintain quality standards, and help ensure products are built with precision and care. Successful team members take pride in their work, stay focused on safety and efficiency, and help keep operations moving smoothly every day.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create stacks of material and support the panel saw operator.
- Operate forklift and pull materials from racks to create stacks for the panel saw.
- Push and or pull sheet goods from racks onto forklift.
- Maintain daily use inventory and Quality Control materials.
- Empty waste hoppers and retrieve empty material carts.
- Create material stack lists from production paperwork.
- Serve as a backup Panel Saw operator.
- Operate other machinery in the department as needed.
- Operate Horizontal Drill & Dowel insertion machine.
- Organize and sort cabinet parts for the cabinet builders using production schedules.
- Machine parts on Drill and Dowel machine using barcode reader and production paperwork.
- Maintain machine in accordance with department standards.
- Catch parts from Edge bander.
- Push carts of finished parts to their next destination in the plant.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: - No required education or job experience.
- Ability to learn and retain on the job training.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to read measurement tools such as a tape measure.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions in English.
- Ability to meet quality standards - strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to consistently meet/exceed production quotas.
- Comfortable working with Computers. Ability to work with MS Office products.
- Willingness to perform many different tasks throughout the day.
- Willingness to be cross trained and operate other department machines when necessary.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position including, but not be limited to the following: - Sit, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
- Stand for extended periods of time.
- Moving, bending, standing, kneeling, lifting and carrying material weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Pushing/pulling, grasping/squeezing, pinching, fine motor dexterity.
- Exposure to high noise levels and requires wearing hearing protection in designated areas.
- Exposure to plant environment to include moving parts, fumes, dust. Safety glasses to be worn at all times.
- Endure heat and cold conditions in the plant.
