Position Summary


The Material Handler is responsible for the accurate receiving, handling, storage, and distribution of materials throughout the manufacturing facility. This role ensures timely delivery of materials to production areas, maintains inventory accuracy, and supports overall operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive incoming shipments, verify accuracy against purchase orders, and inspect for damage or discrepancies
  • Unload, label, and store materials in designated warehouse locations
  • Distribute raw materials, components, and supplies to production lines in a timely manner
  • Perform inventory transactions in ERP/WMS systems (receipts, transfers, adjustments)
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and assist with cycle counts and physical inventories
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and carts safely
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent damage or loss
  • Coordinate with production, purchasing, and logistics teams to meet material demands
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in compliance with company and OSHA standards
  • Identify and communicate material shortages, discrepancies, or process improvements
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling role
  • Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification preferred)
  • Basic computer skills and experience with inventory systems (ERP/WMS)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on feet for extended periods
Preferred:
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or inventory control practices
  • Forklift certification
