PGS Worldwide is seeking a Material Handler in Maple Grove, MN for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Material Handler will support warehouse, inventory, cycle count, material movement, and shipping/receiving activity. This role requires warehouse experience, inventory management experience, forklift capability, strong attention to detail, and the ability to accurately use scanners, computer systems, and shipping documentation.
Required Skills
- High school diploma required.
- 18+ years old.
- Valid driver's license.
- Warehouse environment experience.
- 3+ years of inventory management experience.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to use handheld scanners quickly and accurately.
- Ability to read and understand shipping documents.
- Microsoft Office and Excel experience.
- Computer, typing, and data entry skills.
- Strong English oral and written communication skills.
- Advanced math skills.
- Inventory control experience.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Ability to follow complex instructions, paperwork, and process details.
- Ability to support deadlines, schedules, and process improvement.
- Safety-focused work style.
- Ability to operate propane or electric-powered forklifts.
- Schedule flexibility for overtime, weekends, holidays, early mornings, or evenings as needed.
Preferred Skills
- Forklift trained.
- Stand-up or high-reach truck trained.
- Experience with wall-to-wall cycle counts.
- Experience supporting inventory improvements.
- Strong interest in working overtime as needed.
What You'll Do
- Open containers using hand tools.
- Count, weigh, sample, track, log, verify, and record materials.
- Use computer systems to maintain inventory and material records.
- Load and unload materials by hand onto or from pallets and trays.
- Complete physical inventory counts manually or using a weigh scale.
- Operate handheld scanners to locate and verify items.
- Support shipping, receiving, warehouse, inventory, and material handling tasks.
- Assist with cycle count and inventory improvement activities.
- Contribute to team goals while maintaining safety and accuracy.
Work Schedule / Shift
- 9/80 schedule.
- Tentative hours: 6:00 AM 3:00 PM.
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Overtime may be required as needed.
