Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 9 months (extension possible; conversion to permanent possible estimated target salary $21 $23/hr if converted)
  • Start: ASAP
  • Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: 7:00 AM 3:30 PM, 9:00 AM 5:30 PM, or 10:30 AM 7:00 PM hiring manager is flexible on start time for the right candidate
  • PPE Required: Steel-toe boots required
  • Badging/Access: Badge required
  • Parking: Park in warehouse lot
  • Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Material Handler will dismantle, adjust, rework, repair, and perform packaging of equipment according to assembly drawings, schematics, and procedures with a general understanding of compliance requirements. This role is responsible for maintaining quality and safety standards and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and verify packaging components; perform instrument packaging in a safe and timely fashion per procedures or technical documents
  • Complete and maintain quality and packaging documentation as required
  • Comply with, participate in, and maintain 6S events and follow-ups
  • Maintain and/or participate in daily management boards (if applicable)
  • Assist with and complete inventory transactions
  • Initiate proper disposition of defective parts using the NCE process
  • Accountable for inventory accuracy
  • Accountable for daily completion of the NCE process
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Perform equipment maintenance as required
  • Understand and comply with all work safety rules and regulations
  • Participate in cross-training to meet schedule needs
  • Work on special projects as requested
  • Ability to work overtime to meet production schedule as needed
  • May be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the above as reasonably required by business needs

Required Skills

  • Basic knowledge of hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, torque tools, crimpers, soldering, multi-meter, and oscilloscope
  • Ability to read and follow assembly drawings, procedures, and schematics
  • Ability to follow written procedures to maintain GMP compliance and ISO 13485 certification
  • Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Outlook
  • Must be able to read and understand English
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
  • Detail oriented and accurate
  • Comfortable on computers and inventory systems
  • Flexible to work in multiple departments and functions

Preferred Skills

  • Oracle or MRP/ERP experience preferred, but not necessary
  • Basic Knowledge of ORACLE and AGILE application preferred
  • Knowledge of Excel preferred
  • Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) knowledge a plus
  • Warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Required Experience

  • At least 1 year of manufacturing or warehouse experience

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for full shift
  • Sit; use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying products weighing up to 35 pounds
  • Potential exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and/or moderate noise levels
  • Potential exposure to hazardous chemicals or other materials
  • Safety shoes compliant with site-specific policies/procedures must be worn in designated areas
  • Typical warehouse attire is acceptable
  • Note: pallet jacks/riders and forklifts are NOT required for this role
