Job Summary The Material Handler position operates a forklift to support production. Qualifications To achieve success, a Material Handler should possess the following minimum requirements, knowledge, skills, and abilities: Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred; or, one to three months of related experience and/or training; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience. Comprehension/Communication skills: Reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals; fills out safety inspection and shipping reports. Mathematical Skills: Adds, subtracts, multiplies and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Work Environment Production environment in a manufacturing facility with occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Noise level is high. While performing the job functions of this position, the employee works near punch presses, machine shop equipment, forklifts, welders and automated assembly fixtures.
