A successful candidate will be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Success as a Material Handler is being able to achieve the following expectations: Maintain and ensure compliance with all Adrian Steel policies and procedures as well as all state, local and federal safety guidelines Organize and stock warehouse and inventory needed for each day Maintain a clean and organized workspace to maximize productivity Coordinate inventory for daily production with Shop Team Lead Identify parts needed and bin locations from paper invoices Operate handling equipment according to company safety regulations Perform general warehouse duties as necessary The key behaviors/skills required for this role are: Results oriented; exceeds goals and pushes self and team Understand commercial products, part numbers and Kanban inventory system Ability to identify and communicate risk immediately Ability to follow directions Ability to operate hand carts and lift up to 50 lbs.; ability to obtain forklift license Knowledge of industry safety regulations Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Attention to detail Excellent oral and written communication skills Education required for this role: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred Distributor operations experience Prior aftermarket accessory install experience required Physical Requirements: Frequent bending/twisting at the neck and trunk area Physical ability to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds (with assistance) Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus Frequent standing, sitting, walking, carrying of items, reaching, handling, kneeling, crouching, bending Frequent squatting, stooping, or kneeling, and reaching above the head and reaching forward Continuous use of hand strength to grasp tools and climb on to ladders and into vehicles Additional Requirements: Must meet and maintain all requirements to be a “Driver” as defined in Adrian Steel Fleet Corporate Driving Policy Valid driver’s license Acceptable driving record (Adrian Steel authorized) |
