    Material Handler - Division 8

    Position: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 5:00am - 1:30pm

    Required Education: HS Diploma and/or GED Equivalent

    Education Preferred: Architectural Technology / Design / Construction

    Position Summary:

    The Division 8 Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient receiving, handling, organization, storage and movement of Division 8 materials. The types of materials include: commercial doors, frames, hardware, and related products. This position plays an important role in maintaining an organized warehouse and ensuring materials are properly received, identified, stored and prepared for delivery or project needs.

    The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, organized and comfortable working in a warehouse environment while handling a variety of commercial construction materials.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Receive and break down incoming truckloads of stock and project materials.

    • Inspect, identify, tag and properly store incoming materials.

    • Sort, organize and tag commercial doors, frames, hardware and other Division 8 materials.

    • Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.

    • Load and unload materials from trucks in a safe and efficient manner.

    • Prepare and stage materials for deliveries, projects, and warehouse needs.

    • Maintain accurate stock inventory and assist with inventory counts as needed.

    • Replenish stock bins and designated storage areas.

    • Maintain an organized warehouse to ensure materials are easily identifiable and accessible.

    • Assist with local deliveries as needed.

    • Clean and organize the shop, warehouse and work areas.

    • Assist with snow removal, including shoveling and operating a snowblower as needed.

    • Follow all company safety procedures and proper material-handling practices.

    • Report damaged, missing, or incorrectly received materials to the appropriate supervisor.

    • Perform additional warehouse and material-handling duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.

    • Valid Driver's license and acceptable driving record required.

    • Previous forklift experience required.

    • Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, construction material, or material-handling experience preferred.

    • Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment.

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

    • Ability to accurately identify, tag, sort and store materials.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Dependable attendance and punctuality.

    • Ability to safely lift between 50-75 pounds independently and 100 pounds with assistance.

    • Must successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
