CHL Systems is hiring a Material Handler to support material flow, inventory accuracy, and production efficiency in our Souderton manufacturing and yard operations.
 
This hands-on role is ideal for someone with material handling experience who is comfortable operating equipment, working with heavy materials, performing cycle counts, and keeping inventory organized and accurate.

What You’ll Do
 
Inventory Accuracy & Cycle Counting
  • Perform scheduled cycle counts and partial inventory audits
  • Verify physical inventory against ERP/system records
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and communicate findings
  • Enter and maintain accurate inventory data in the ERP system
  • Help identify root causes of inventory variances and support corrective actions
Material Handling & Production Support
  • Move, organize, and stage steel materials, components, and finished products
  • Load and unload materials using forklifts, side-loaders, overhead cranes, and other equipment
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, issuing, and staging materials for production
  • Maintain organized and accurate yard, warehouse, and inventory locations
  • Ensure materials are properly labeled, identified, stored, and tracked
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to material flow and inventory accuracy
Safety, Equipment & Team Support
  • Operate forklifts, side-loaders, and other industrial equipment safely
  • Obtain and maintain company forklift/side-loader certification
  • Follow all OSHA, company safety, and PPE requirements
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors, purchasing, production, and shop employees
  • Support general shop, yard, and warehouse needs as assigned
What We’re Looking For
 
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of material handling, warehouse, inventory, or manufacturing experience
  • Experience with cycle counting, inventory checks, or inventory reconciliation
  • Forklift experience required; side-loader experience preferred
  • Ability to safely move, stage, and handle heavy materials
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with counts, locations, labels, and documentation
  • Basic math skills and ability to read written information, labels, and basic drawings
  • Comfortable using computers, scanners, ERP, or inventory management systems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with purchasing, production, and shop teams
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing, warehouse, and outdoor yard environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with ERP or inventory management systems
  • Experience handling steel, industrial components, or other heavy materials
  • Experience operating overhead cranes or other industrial material handling equipment
  • Certifications in forklift operation, logistics, inventory control, or related areas
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • On-site role in a manufacturing, warehouse, and outdoor yard environment
  • Work around moving equipment, forklifts, side-loaders, overhead cranes, trucks, and active production areas
  • Regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and movement throughout the facility and yard
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to loud noise, dust, fumes, vibration, weather conditions, and typical industrial shop/yard conditions
  • PPE is required in designated areas, and all safety procedures must be followed
  • Good vision and focus are required for identifying materials, verifying inventory, and operating equipment safely
