Job Title: Material Handler Location: Pharr, TX (100% Onsite) Duration: 3 Months Contract (Temp to Hire) Pay rate: $15.27 per hour on W2 Shift: Thursday - Saturday from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Responsibilities:
Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site. Reads work order or follows verbal instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
Perform all warehouse duties related to receiving, shipping, and storing products as directed in designated Shipping orders.
Identifies and transports requested materials to and from various locations including, loading docks, trucks, and storage areas.
Reviews shipments for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy.
Uses protective materials and strapping equipment to protect and secure loads.
Manages and piles drums, skids, pallets, and other supplies in specified areas.
Assist in various cycle counting and taking of inventories
Applies to understanding machine loading capacity and schedule, ensuring prompt and efficient delivery of required items.
Follow all standard operating policies and department/site guidelines to ensure compliance with applicable policies, practices, and regulatory requirements (OSHA).
Perform all housekeeping tasks necessary to keep work areas clean and safe. Performs other related duties as requested.
Must have:
Ability to safely handle power lift trucks, equipment, and other warehouse equipment.
Good math and written communication skills.
Exercise responsibility for preventing loss or damage to equipment
We require candidates with verified Powered Industrial Truck (Sit Down Forklift) experience. A minimum of one year of relevant experience is preferred.
A practical evaluation will be administered prior to hiring to ensure safety and competency.
Preferred skills:
Clamp lift truck experience and RF scanner proficiency.
