Description
Job Title: Material Handler (Forklift Operator Required)
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Proven experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment
Ability to become proficient in handling, storing, and moving materials safely and efficiently
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
Self-motivated and dependable, with a strong sense of responsibility
Analytical thinker with a focus on accuracy and continual improvement
Must be willing and able to work any shift, including off shifts and weekends
Roles and Responsibilities:
Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to load, unload, and transport materials
Accurately receive, store, and distribute materials, supplies, and products
Support production by ensuring timely delivery of materials to appropriate departments
Perform inventory counts and maintain accurate records of material movement
Follow all safety protocols and company procedures related to material handling
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment using 5S principles
Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and labeling
Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments
Identify and report any issues with materials, equipment, or safety concerns
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
Cross-train in other areas of the warehouse or production floor as needed
Physical Requirements:
Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and lift
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion
Ability to operate forklifts and other equipment in varying temperatures and environments
Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, and depth perception
Ability to work indoors and outdoors as needed
