Job Title: Material Handler (Forklift Operator Required)
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Ability to become proficient in handling, storing, and moving materials safely and efficiently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
- Self-motivated and dependable, with a strong sense of responsibility
- Analytical thinker with a focus on accuracy and continual improvement
- Must be willing and able to work any shift, including off shifts and weekends
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to load, unload, and transport materials
- Accurately receive, store, and distribute materials, supplies, and products
- Support production by ensuring timely delivery of materials to appropriate departments
- Perform inventory counts and maintain accurate records of material movement
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures related to material handling
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment using 5S principles
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and labeling
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments
- Identify and report any issues with materials, equipment, or safety concerns
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
- Cross-train in other areas of the warehouse or production floor as needed
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and lift
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion
- Ability to operate forklifts and other equipment in varying temperatures and environments
- Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, and depth perception
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors as needed
