Material Handler - First Shift - $20/Hr - Sorrento Valley


Job Description


This role provides shipping, receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and data entry services for finished goods inventory and equipment at assigned facilities. You will pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and process items for storage and shipment in line with established procedures and customer requirements, maintaining a high level of quality so customers receive the correct products on time.


Responsibilities


+ Receive materials and finished goods daily and verify that the quality, type, and quantity of materials received are correct.

+ Review and confirm that all required documentation, such as packing lists, is accurate and complete for incoming materials.

+ Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, and store items for inventory and shipment according to established procedures and customer requirements.

+ Process items correctly for storage and shipment to ensure customers receive the correct products within the requested timeframes.

+ Provide order fulfillment services for finished goods inventory and equipment across assigned facilities.

+ Perform accurate data entry related to inventory, shipping, receiving, and order processing using designated systems.

+ Safely operate distribution equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, in accordance with safety standards and site procedures.

+ Use Dell tablets to perform and record inventory, shipping, and receiving transactions.

+ Support inventory control activities by tracking, organizing, and reconciling stock levels.

+ Package and palletize items properly for truck pickups, ensuring loads are secure and compliant with shipping requirements.

+ Use RF scanners to complete and verify inventory, picking, and shipping transactions.

+ Follow all operational and safety procedures to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.


Essential Skills


+ Experience operating forklifts in a distribution, warehouse, or material handling environment.

+ Hands-on experience with inventory control processes and procedures.

+ in packaging and palletizing items for truck pickups and outbound shipments.

+ Material handling experience, including moving, storing, and staging products and equipment.

+ Ability to use RF scanners for inventory, picking, and shipping transactions.

+ Experience using pallet jacks and other basic warehouse equipment.

+ Ability to operate Dell tablets or similar mobile devices for transaction processing and data entry.

+ Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate counts, documentation, and order fulfillment.

+ Ability to follow established procedures and customer requirements for shipping, receiving, and storage.

+ Capability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as needed.


Additional Skills & Qualifications


+ Prior experience working in a distribution, warehouse, or logistics environment.

+ Familiarity with ERP systems and updating inventory and order information electronically.

+ Comfort working with computers for data entry and transaction processing.

+ Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks such as receiving, picking, packing, and shipping.

+ Ability to work effectively in a high delivery environment that supports global shipping operations.

Work Environment


This position is based in a distribution and warehouse setting that supports global shipping operations for finished goods and equipment. The role follows a 1st shift schedule, typically from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with regular opportunities for overtime and an expectation of flexibility to work on weekends when required. You will work with distribution equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, and you will use Dell tablets, computers, RF scanners, and an ERP system to process and track inventory and shipments. The environment is structured, process-driven, and safety-focused, with an emphasis on accuracy, organization, and timely order fulfillment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
