Material Handler

We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our team in Strongsville, Ohio. This full-time contract-to-hire role is perfect for someone with warehouse experience who is reliable and safety-conscious.

Hours
2nd Shift
3:45 pm – 12:15 am (Training shift will be on 1st shift: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm)

Pay
$18.00+/hr depending on experience plus a $0.50 shift differential once switched to second shift. After training, pay will be $18.50/hr.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a safe working environment by following all safety policies and procedures and reporting unsafe conditions and incidents
  • Read work orders or follow oral instructions to identify materials or containers to be moved
  • Load and unload materials onto/from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand
  • Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated areas
  • Secure lifting attachments to materials and operate cranes or hoists to move loads, or signal operators to do so
  • Count, weigh, and record materials moved on daily production sheets
  • Attach labels or tags to materials and mark information on containers
  • Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band them together
  • Operate industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist with moving materials and products

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of warehouse or material handling experience
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
  • Good problem-solving abilities
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience operating industrial trucks or hoists
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • One to two years related work experience

Other Requirements:
  • Ability to lift heavy materials frequently
  • Willingness to work on-site in a fast-paced environment
