Summary

  • The Material Handler is responsible for supporting warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, storage, and order fulfillment.
  • This role ensures accurate handling of materials, inventory control, and timely delivery of products while maintaining high quality and compliance standards in a temperature-controlled warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, and store materials according to established procedures.
  • Process items for shipment ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to customers.
  • Receive incoming materials and verify quantity, quality, and documentation (e.g., packing lists).
  • Maintain accurate inventory and proper storage of materials.
  • Operate warehouse and distribution equipment safely.
  • Work in various temperature-controlled environments including room temperature, cold rooms, and freezer conditions.
  • Follow company procedures, ISO standards, and quality policies.
  • Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with training and operational standards.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and support internal operations.
  • Identify and report discrepancies or deviations from standard processes.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 0 2 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or material handling.
  • Experience in logistics within life sciences or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Experience handling temperature-sensitive or hazardous materials.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs continuously and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Frequent walking, standing, reaching, pushing, pulling, and climbing.
  • Work in temperature-controlled environments including freezer conditions.
  • Exposure to moderate to high noise levels.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Basic understanding of shipping, receiving, and inventory control processes.
  • Ability to follow procedures, instructions, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to operate powered industrial equipment (or willingness to learn).
  • Basic computer skills (ERP systems, Outlook, shipping software).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and shifts as needed.
