Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler and Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of various machinery and the efficient handling of materials throughout the production process. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a range of fabrication and machining equipment, managing material flow, and maintaining safety standards. Responsibilities
Operate machinery such as CNC laser cutters, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, press brake machines, plasma cutters, and electrical discharge machines with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
Handle and transport raw materials and finished products using forklifts and cranes, ensuring proper placement and storage.
Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to set up machines for fabrication, forming, or machining tasks.
Perform machine setup, calibration, tooling changes, and routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
Conduct quality inspections using measuring instruments and precision measurement tools to verify dimensions and adherence to specifications.
Follow safety standards in production environments, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe operation of all machinery.
Assist in metal fabrication processes such as sheet metal forming, welding, assembly, and tooling adjustments.
Maintain accurate documentation of production activities, measurements, and quality checks.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying potential process enhancements or safety concerns.
Skills
Proficiency in operating CNC machinery including laser cutting, milling machines, lathes, plasma cutters, and EDM equipment.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math calculations.
Experience with forklift operation and crane handling within a manufacturing setting.
Familiarity with safety standards related to machine operation and metal fabrication processes.
Ability to perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring instruments.
Knowledge of metal fabrication techniques such as forming, welding, stamping, and assembly.
Basic understanding of CNC programming concepts and setup procedures.
Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills.
Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams in a fast-paced environment.
