Your mission

Within Symbotic’s Customer Operations group, you will lead day‑to‑day operations of a robotic material handling system, cultivate strong on‑site customer partnerships, and champion quality, safety, and system performance. You’ll own continuous improvement and root‑cause efforts that raise the bar for throughput and reliability.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Vigilantly track system health across automated adapters, vertical lifts, and robotic vehicles; anticipate and prevent disruptions.
  • Tackle complex operational and system issues; orchestrate timely escalations to supporting teams when production is at risk.
  • Convey technical matters clearly to site teams and customers; maintain thorough documentation and reports.
  • Partner with engineering to move from incident to insight to implemented fix.
  • Coach and assist operators on the complete system: automated adapters, vertical lifts, robotic vehicles, warehouse management systems, and adjacent IT.
  • Step in to cover critical on‑site Symbotic roles when continuity is essential.
  • Standardize processes and drive continuous improvement, especially during production‑focused change.
  • Reinforce a strong safety culture in line with OSHA requirements and Symbotic/customer procedures.

What sets you up for success

  • BS in Electrical or Software Engineering, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years working with automated or industrial automation systems.
  • Comfort with and appetite to grow in PLCs (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens), robotics (ABB), and software environments including SQL, Linux, and Python.
  • Demonstrated, hands‑on capability with assembly, operation, and troubleshooting of robotics and electromechanical systems.
  • Calm under pressure; adapts quickly as priorities evolve.
  • Learner’s mindset, team orientation, and a strong sense of urgency.

Where and how you’ll work

  • Valid driver’s license; ability to drive and/or fly to customer locations.
  • Own a credit card and submit expenses to Symbotic for bi‑weekly reimbursement.
  • Frequent walking and reaching; periods of standing; climbing/balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
  • Operate at heights up to 45 feet and within 24‑inch restrictive spaces; frequent stair climbing; regular proximity to high railings.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Follow all safety requirements, including Lock out tag out and fall protection protocols; use PPE as required (hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyewear, hearing protection, fall protection such as safety harness) especially on construction sites.
  • Protected from weather but not temperature; work comfortably in 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.

Compensation and benefits

Base salary range for this location: $71,000.00 – $97,900.00, with actual base pay dependent on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, 401(k), PTO, and other offerings.
