DPP is seeking a Material Planner I for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace & Defense industry.
 
Work arrangement: Onsite in Apopka, Florida
Work schedule: 5x8 (N-F)
Duration: 12 months
Terms: W2
Work authorization: US Citizen
 
Position summary:
  • Our client is looking for a Material Planner 1 to support their MRP Planning department.
  • As a member of the MRP Planning department you’ll get to manage materials from dock to shipping while interfacing with other functional areas.
  • This position will serve on-site at Apopka, FL. 
Responsibilities:
  • Prepares lists of materials, accessories, and parts used in production following engineering and design blueprints. Examines blueprints, identifies parts code, computes quantity needed, and lists total material requirements including contract numbers, routing, and special handling instructions. Submits list to purchasing department for use in preparing purchase orders.
  • Understanding customer requirements through RFPs and other requests
  • Collaborating and coordinating with other functional areas to develop the material procurement strategy, interfacing with Global Supply Chain, Program Management, and Operations Program Management.
  • Ensuring delivery schedule adherence
  • Prepares shop work orders for materials and product processing and coordinates with schedulers to ensure that items are being processed according to specifications and time requirements.
  • Maintains progress reports, schedules, and other related records.
  • Maintains "as required" material planning, reorder points and consumption. 
Basic qualifications:
  • High School Diploma with 2 years of combined experience in Material Planning, Global Supply Chain or Material Handling.
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required 
Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of combined experience in Material Planning, Global Supply Chain or Material Handling.
  • Experience in working with manufacturing specifications and drawings.
