About the Role

Join a fast‑paced, high‑performance automotive manufacturing environment as a Material Planner, where you will play a critical role in ensuring 100% on‑time delivery, optimal material flow, and efficient production support. In this Just‑In‑Time / Just‑In‑Sequence (JIT/JIS) operation, you’ll manage inbound and outbound logistics, inventory accuracy, supplier coordination, and line‑side material availability—all while reducing cost and maintaining quality and compliance.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solutions‑driven planner who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys balancing precision, communication, and problem‑solving.

Key Responsibilities

Material Planning & Production Support

  • Coordinate and schedule production materials to ensure 100% final product delivery while minimizing inventory, handling, and logistics costs in a JIT/JIS system.
  • Maintain uninterrupted production flow by ensuring timely part availability and managing all container and line‑side material needs.
  • Manage inventory levels, storage areas, and material presentation using FIFO and other best‑practice controls.

Inbound / Outbound Logistics

  • Oversee receiving activities, perform quality checks based on standards (ASN, serial labels), and maintain dock scheduling for shipping and receiving.
  • Coordinate standard and non‑standard shipments, including customs and legal documentation.

Customer & Supplier Interface

  • Serve as the lead contact for Mopar requirements, responding to daily tickets and maintaining 90%+ delivery rating.
  • Handle customer and supplier complaints, ensuring proper documentation and timely resolution.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Coordinate, monitor, and train team members involved in goods receiving, storage, material handling, and waste disposal.
  • Train personnel on IT applications, scanner systems, and logistics procedures; assign tasks to Material Supervisors.
  • Support personnel development, coaching, performance oversight, and workplace organization.

Compliance, Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in audits (material coverage, layered audits, supplier shipments, FIFO, line‑side inventory checks).
  • Support PPAP and PSO activities, ensuring material readiness and alignment with customer requirements.
  • Uphold safety standards, environmental compliance, and IATF 16949/CSR/ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Exercise authority to stop production when safety or quality issues require immediate intervention.

Qualifications

Education & Training

  • Grade 12 / OSSD required; Post‑secondary education in a related field preferred.
  • APICS / PMAC training strongly preferred.

Experience

  • 3+ years in a materials/production planning role within a manufacturing environment; Tier‑1 automotive experience is an asset.
  • Experience in JIT/JIS supply chains and familiarity with Chrysler‑based material flow a plus.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Excellent organizational and problem‑solving abilities (8D, 5‑Why).
  • Working knowledge of MRO and SAP; experience with esupplierconnect.com and Mopar Service Requirements strongly preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic, and deadline‑driven environment.

Languages

  • English required; Spanish, German, and French considered an asset.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, and handling of materials. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work performed in a non‑climate‑controlled facility with seasonal temperature variations.
  • Moderate noise level with frequent interaction around operating equipment.
  • Must be able to work independently, under pressure, and adapt to shifting priorities or station assignments.
  • Adherence to all PPE and safety protocols required.

Why Join Us

  • Be a critical contributor in a high‑impact logistics role supporting automotive manufacturing excellence.
  • Work in a dynamic, growth‑focused environment with opportunities to influence processes, improve flow, and collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Gain experience with OEM‑aligned logistics systems, Mopar requirements, audits, and world‑class manufacturing (WCM) standards.
