Job Description:
About the Role
As a Material Planner, you'll play a key role in ensuring our operations run efficiently by managing material planning and procurement activities. In this role, you will help maintain material availability for production while balancing working capital and warehousing constraints.
You'll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:
- Manage material requirements planning (MRP) and issue purchase orders to ensure materials are available to support production
- Develop and maintain material planning assumptions, including safety stock levels, lead times, order quantities, and lot sizing
- Monitor supply plans and identify changes that may impact material availability or production schedules
- Partner with suppliers and internal teams to resolve backorders, shortages, excess inventory, and slow-moving items
- Analyze supplier performance and inventory trends to improve service levels, inventory turns, and reduce waste
- Support resolution of invoicing discrepancies within SAP (including MRBR or VIM)
- Participate in daily production or planning meetings to stay aligned on priorities and support issue resolution
- Support material transitions related to reformulations, new product introductions, redesigns, and item discontinuations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, Sales, and Customer Service teams to meet business objectives
Important Details:
- This is a full-time, on-site hybrid role on first shift, based in our Oak Brook, IL office.
- The anticipated compensation for this position ranges from $63,000 to $94,400 annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics and business or organizational needs. For certain roles, the successful candidate may be eligible for annual discretionary merit compensation award, bonus and equity pay.
You'll fit right in if you have:
- A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
- Experience in supply chain, material planning, production scheduling, demand planning, or related operations
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; experience with SAP/ERP systems and Power BI is preferred
- Ability to analyze data and leverage insights to make effective decisions
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external partners
- Ability to organize and prioritize work, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to multitask and work independently
