Material Planning Coordinator

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Material Planning Coordinator in Sterling Heights, Michigan for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role supports inventory control, material handling, shipping preparation, and warehouse operations in a fast-paced production environment. The position requires strong inventory management experience, equipment operation capability, and attention to detail to help ensure materials are accurately stored, tracked, and shipped on time.

Required Skills

• High school diploma
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory management
• Experience working in a warehouse environment
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to read and understand shipping documents
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced math skills
• Computer and typing skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office
• Ability to operate propane or electric-powered forklifts and clamp trucks
• Ability to operate a handheld scanner quickly and accurately
• Highly detail-oriented
• Ability to lift 40 lbs repeatedly throughout the workday
• Ability to stand for several hours at a time
• Ability to walk for an entire shift
• Ability to perform a wide range of physical tasks in a warehouse setting
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, early mornings, or evenings as needed
• Must be at least 18 years old

What You'll Do

• Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and stocking materials
• Periodically check inventory to ensure stock accuracy
• Keep a full database of item locations
• Prepare items for shipment by pulling, crating, packing, loading, and securing products
• Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation
• Inspect and maintain equipment used in daily operations
• Load and unload materials from trucks using appropriate equipment
• Use manual jacks, clamp trucks, dollies, lift trucks, computerized scales, and related warehouse equipment
• Operate overhead doors, trailer restraints, dock plates, banding, and wrapping equipment
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Support additional warehouse and material handling tasks as assigned
• Follow procedures for handling hazardous or dangerous materials as required

Work Schedule / Shift

• 9/80 schedule
• Tentative start time: 6:00 AM

Pay

• $31.61/hour
