Immediate opening for an Material Prep (1st Shift) in Vista, CA who possesses:  

• This role is critical to preparing raw materials, primarily carbon steel tubes and plates, for machining or welding processes. The ideal candidate is hands-on, proactive, and skilled in using tools like pneumatic hand tools, abrasives, and deburring equipment to ensure materials meet quality standards for our aerospace and defense products.

FULL DESCRIPTION:  

The selected candidate will be responsible for: 

• Prepare raw materials (carbon steel tubes and plates) using a state-of-the-art compound bandsaw and other tools for downstream manufacturing processes.
• Perform deburring and surface preparation using pneumatic hand tools, abrasives, and tumblers to ensure materials are ready for machining or welding.
• Inspect raw materials for quality and consistency, identifying and addressing any imperfections.
• Collaborate with machining, welding, and other production teams to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to project specifications.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
• Proactively communicate with team members and supervisors to address issues, optimize processes, and meet production deadlines.
• Assist in organizing and staging materials for efficient production flow.
• Participate in cross-training opportunities to support other manufacturing tasks as needed.

The selected candidate will also possess: 

• Hands-on experience preparing raw materials, ideally carbon steel, or a manufacturing background with a willingness to learn.
• Proficiency with deburring tools, tumblers, pneumatic hand tools, and abrasives.
• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Proactive attitude with a focus on problem-solving and process improvement.

Salary Range: $20-23/hr
