Material Receiving Inspector
Day Shift Available
$24.00 – $30.00 per hour DOE | Full-Time
 
Apache Workforce is currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Material Receiving Inspector for a growing manufacturing facility in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have experience performing incoming material inspections, reviewing compliance documentation, and ensuring products meet company and industry quality standards.
This role is perfect for someone with strong experience in warehouse operations, quality control, and dimensional inspection who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform visual inspections of incoming materials, components, and finished products
  • Conduct dimensional inspections using tape measures and inspection tools
  • Review purchase orders, packing slips, drawings, and specifications for accuracy and compliance
  • Identify and document defects, damages, or non-conforming materials
  • Complete inspection reports and maintain quality documentation
  • Verify assemblies, measurements, and product functionality
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to resolve material discrepancies
  • Participate in root cause investigations and corrective actions
  • Assist with maintaining inventory accuracy and material traceability
  • Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards
  • Support warehouse operations and material handling as needed
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • ASNT SNT-TC-1A Level I Visual Inspection certification required
  • Experience interpreting Purchase Orders, NCRs, SCARs, and quality documentation
  • Familiarity with ASTM and ASME compliance standards preferred
  • Experience using dimensional inspection tools and measuring equipment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Preferred Qualifications
  • ASNT Level II Magnetic Particle Inspection certification
  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • ASCM (CSCP) Certification
  • Experience with 8D problem-solving methodology
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and inspect materials throughout the shift
  • Strong visual attention to detail, including depth perception and color recognition
